Interface Façade Space, HSLU Lucerne
The research group around Angelika Juppien and her team at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HASLU) invites the research partners to a kickoff meeting in Horw. Given the challenges presented by the densification of our urban environment and of residential settlements, the regulation of private and public in housing development is essential. The objective of research at the HSLU is to produce planning recommendations for the building envelope: alongside notable project partners such as the Bundesamt für Wohnungswesen (Federal Housing Office, BWO) and the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), the developers Senn, Losinger Marazzi, and Pensimo, as well as the towns of Zug and Dübendorf, «dazwischen» is involved in an advisory capacity.

For its autumn event, the Architekturforum Biel invites you to the Filmpodium, located in the interspace behind the Centre PasquArt art gallery. Roland Züger will speak on the «architecture of the social» and on the way in which even the most inconspicuous design elements can contribute decisively to a successful residential environment. Central here is the question of how we, the inhabitants, perceive this environment. What influence does the constructed space have on the social activities transpiring within it? A pioneering contribution here is being made by observations on the «in-between» compiled by Fred Truniger and his team, and exploiting filmic resources, in the framework of the project »dazwischen/in-between.»

Research into Threshold Spaces, ZHAW Winterthur
We experience architecture in situations. These emerge from the architectonic frame, as well as through social action. Research into social action and into utilizations of architecture reveals the limitations and possibilities that define building. What do we learn from the uses of architecture, and how can such findings be presented? During spring semester 2015, under the direction of Roland Züger, these questions guided architecture students at the ZHAW (School of Architecture, Design, and Civil Engineering) Winterthur in the BA program «Urban Aspects».
